After living her entire life in Red Lion, PA, VSI’s Director of Technical and Product Certification, Sara Krompholz and her family decided last year that a big change was in order.

Sara, along with her husband and five-year-old son, decided to plant roots and build a custom four-bedroom, three-bath house on a one-acre, semi-wooded lot in a neighborhood in a suburb of Raleigh, NC.

The Krompholz family wanted to evoke a warm, crisp and refined look in their design plans, so in partnership with their builder, they started the process in the summer of 2020 by researching the best way to achieve their vision.

Red vinyl siding, bright white fascia and soffit – paired with bold black gutters and downspouts created a “nice contrast,” Sara explained – and was the perfect choice for capturing the stylish charm with the sophistication of clean lines.

“Our builder told us he had nothing but positive experiences with vinyl siding,” Sara noted. “Our new neighborhood is a good mix of neutral and bolder hues of vinyl siding, sprinkled with brick and stone accents. Board & Batten and shakes are also used, typically as accents on feature walls and gables.”

Making Memories – The Perfect Siding Choice

Sara said that vinyl siding truly has been the perfect siding choice for her family’s new home.

They achieved the look they wanted, knowing with confidence that it will last without any ongoing maintenance.

“Our experience with vinyl siding has been great,” Sara said. “The install went well, and our builder provided a final power wash of the entire exterior …the siding is so easy to clean! I am confident in the longevity and durability of the siding in both a material and color retention capacity and knowing the quality control and ongoing testing the certified products endure.”
