The Workforce Development Committee has hit the ground running in its mission to grow the labor pool through industry and third party partnerships. Working with organizations including Job Corps, the National Association of Manufacturers, and the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants, the committee is promoting the well-paying career opportunities in siding installation and factory work to a wide range of prospective employees, such as veterans, high school students, the unemployed, and current construction workers.
We’re looking to form an Industry Council within the ACTE (Association for Career and Technical Education), be a leader in NAM’s “Heroes Make America” training program for service members transitioning out of the military and continue to participate in national and regional workforce development events and cultivate third-party partnerships. There’s even talk of creating a “College Pro” model where we could provide entrepreneurs with a “Siding Business in a Box” that will include training and development programs, ongoing support, and franchise opportunities.
There’s much more to come: a landing page that links to installation and manufacturing jobs, a resource repository in the member portal, tailored messaging for various audiences, and a great deal of exciting updates and event announcements!
